Reaching Golden Temple, Vellore
1) REACHING VELLORE GOLDEN TEMPLE FROM TIRUPATI- The approximate distance from Tirupati to Golden Temple is around 115 km. The best way to reach Golden Temple from Tirupati is provided by the road route. Before reaching Vellore, you will also come across Chittoor and Katpadi if you chose bus or car as the medium of travel. It is a total 3 and a half hours journey from Tirupati via bus. Once you board a bus to Vellore, it will drop you straight at the new bus stand in Vellore.
From there you will have to hire a cab or auto rickshaw to reach the Golden Temple. This can take another 20 minutes. If you are using a rental car, you must opt for NH 40. With car, the distance to be covered will be approximately 120 km and you can reach the final destination in 2 hours 40 minutes. The distance and the time of the journey will increase if you use Vellore-Chittoor Road. The cheapest rental fair which you shall pay will be around 900 INR. Depending upon the car you opt for, the rental charges may increase.
2) REACHING VELLORE GOLDEN TEMPLE FROM VELLORE- The temple is very well-connected by different mediums of travel. The distance from the heart of Vellore to the Golden Temple is around 7 kms. One can use an auto-rickshaw or cab to reach the final destination. One can also board a bus from Vellore Bus Stand or New Bus Stand Auto Rickshaw Road or from Thottapalayam.
3) REACHING VELLORE GOLDEN TEMPLE FROM KANCHIPURAM – The average distance between Kanchipuram and Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple is around 83 km. For the best possible and shortest route, you need to opt for NH48. If you opt for this route, it will take you around 1.5 hours to reach the sanctum sanctorum. If you opt for NH48 and SH129, the total distance to be covered shall be 89 km which can be covered in approximately 2 hours when travelling by car. The other possible route is via MDR666 and NH48 which can cost you around 1 hours and 50 minutes to reach the destination. The directions are pretty simple but for safety reasons, one must keep Google Maps in handy. It is also possible to reach the temple via train or bus with these mediums, there is always a possibility of delay.
